The CIBERIDEA Research Group - a nucleus of research in communication, culture and subjectivity technologies - was formed in 1998, developing research that encompasses the universes of new communication technologies, cognitive transformations, biopolitical struggles and cultural processes of subjectivation. The bias that characterizes the work of the group is the theme of the ethical transformations of contemporary society seized through mediations and communication devices. The results of these researches are reflected in dissertations and theses, scientific articles, conferences, lectures and communications of their researchers in national and international magazines, books and events. Given the nature of their research object, Ciberidea researches involve the cross-disciplinary Communication, Philosophy and Psychology. At the institutional level, core research seeks to consolidate partnerships between different units of UFRJ, such as the School of Communication and the Institute of Psychology. The research group invests heavily in teaching, orientation and research activities, aiming at the training of undergraduate and graduate students of said UFRJ units.
